But, it also serves a purpose. An X-ray reveals. It goes beyond the skin to give us bone, nerve, and beating heart. It captures all the intricacies, all the little details. And at X-Ray, that's what we're all about. Since our start as a boutique on the New York fashion scene, we've attended to your apparel with the scrutiny of a surgeon. Like the surgeon, we've made clean cuts and tight stitching. And like the maddest of surgeons, we've ripped, torn, stressed, patched, and zippered to your heart's thumping content.

HISTORY

In the hot, ruthless summer two friends traveled to New York City. They approach in the blanket of nightfall by way of an old, corroded van, and in this van is the designer's collection of hand-designed apparel.

For one year, they drive relentlessly door-to-door, suitcases overflowing with clothes. They storm everything from the smallest boutique to the largest department store to convince storeowners of their vision. Occasionally they're ignored. Sometimes they're kicked out. But more times than not, they make the sale.

When asked what they call their label, they respond 'XRay.' An X-ray, after all, looks beyond the surface. It reveals bone, nerve, and beating heart. It captures all the little intricacies, and this is precisely the designer's mission. Every shirt, every pair of jeans, every item of clothing must go beyond the surface, beyond the ordinary, and give buyers extraordinary detail.

The designers' vision catches like wildfire, stretching from east to west like a contagion and makes its presence in the best stores around the country.

Now, years later, they've ditched their van and set up shop in the New York Fashion District. Today, XRay competes internationally with the top in fashion. Yes, the company has grown and evolved, but its mission remains the same: to look beneath the surface and reveal the extraordinary.

Thanks to the support of you, our ravenous fans, we're able to offer more fits, more styles, more sizes, more variety, just about more of everything. To better appreciate all the goods we now have to offer, let's break it down.

Kinds

Since the beginning, X-Ray has specialized in men's clothing. We've designed the essentials that get a man through every season: t-shirts, button-downs, jackets, wovens, denim jeans, cargos, and shorts. Nonetheless, with every successful clothing launch, we get an overwhelming number of calls and emails saying, "X-Ray, what about the ladies? X-Ray, what about the kids?" Well, fear not! We're pleased to announce our upcoming line of Women's Jeans and our Back-to-School Boy's Apparel. So, be on the lookout.

Materials

Our clothing uses a range of materials. Cotton is our staple. Thanks to the cotton in our clothing, your body can breath whether you're footing it to the office or pulling a sweaty all-nighter on the dance floor. We also add a touch of spandex here and there for flexibility, further softness, and to prevent those damned, unintentional wrinkles.

Then, there's our leather. You'll find our durable leather on our jeans and even some of our shirts as finishing touches. And, when you're looking for even more of it, look no further than our leather jackets. The leather used in our jackets is the perfect balance of warmth and thickness that will get you through any day of the year. Lastly, we have to mention our wovens of tweed, acrylic, and other fibers designed to maximize your warmth.‬

Printing

Our printing explores many themes, and we're constantly revising. These include hand drawn designs, baroque architecture, military and gothic fonts, emblems, coats of arms, and old world symbols. We give some of these aged finishes, while we let others stand out, large and assertive. Either way, they're printed to last.

Embroidery

While this may sound like a frou-frou term, embroidery is the awesome imagery, lettering, and logos created from stitching that you see on many high-end clothing lines. We're proud to offer some of the most complex embroidery around. We can raise it off the surface, multicolor it, vary it in tightness and density; texture it rough, soft or both, give its edges an assortment of finishes, and many other effects.

Color & Texture

We put our clothing through the works with color and texture. We have the ability to singe, scour, bind, rip, distress, repair, wrinkle, color-vanish, over-dye, bleach, tumble-dry, enzyme wash, sandblast, even laser our clothing. Yes, it may sound cruel. But, we achieve them without any sacrifice to durability. These effects give the X-Ray clothing line complete variety and make every item of clothing unique from every other in appearance.

Hardware

Now we're talking. Here are the finishing touches. Hardware is the head-banging, hair tossing heavy-metal of clothing. Our buttons, rivets, emblems, zippers, and chains not only reinforce your jeans, shirts, and jackets, but also give them their irresistible bling. These metals can be arranged in endless ways, and we're always exploring new ways to catch the eye.
